           Short Description:
This is "Akumajou Dracula X - Chi No Rondo"
AKA "Castlevania Dracula X - Rondo Of Blood" (the real version, not the crappy SNES remake) fully translated
into English and converted into a format that is playable on RetroArch and other PC Engine TurboDuo/TurboGrafx 16
emulators.

This game is considered by most hard-core Castlevania fans to be the best, or at the very least,
one of the best Castlevania games ever released for any gaming platform and chances are very good that you've not
ever had the opportunity to play it, but now you can!


Long Description:
This is it! The famous Castlevania game for PC Engine TurboDuo/Turbografx 16 that we in the English speaking world
never got to play back-in-the-day, unless of course, you imported it from Japan. The good thing about the TG-16 is that
there were no region locks so you could play any game on any system (oh, for a simpler time...).

The only
problem is that most people that weren't born in, nor live in, Japan don't read or speak Japanese, so even if
you could somehow obtain a copy (not easy), you wouldn't know what was being said and so the game would be very
difficult to play.


The problem and my solution:
The good news is that this great retro game has
been translated 100% into English, but the bad news is that there doesn't seem to be any prepatched version
available anywhere on the internet that will work with RetroArch and some other emulators without major
problems/errors.

I tried getting the prepatched game and it didn't work in RetroArch, then I tried
getting the unpatched game and patching it myself, but in order to use the patch, you have to convert the files into a
weird, non-standard format that emulators don't like, or else the patch won't work...

My solution
was to take the prepatched game commonly available on the internet and burn it to disc and then re-rip it using ImgBurn
to a standard .bin .cue format that the emulators will tolerate.

It's important to note that you have to
actually burn the disc, and then re-rip it using a program such as ImgBurn, as just mounting it virtually and then
ripping it from a virtual drive simply won't work for some odd reason.

Congratulations, I just saved you
the hours and hours that I had to spend researching and figuring all of this all out the hard way. :)


Conclusion:
This game looks, sounds (CD quality music) and plays spectacularly in RetroArch using the "PC
Engine SuperGrafx (Beetle SGX)" Core/Emulator. 

The reason I like RetroArch so much is because of the
very high quality shaders you can apply to any game. With shaders, you can either make the game look really retro with
scanlines as though it was being played on an old CRT monitor (a good example of this kind of shader would be
crt-royale-kurozumi), or as I prefer, fix it up to make it look as though it was a totally modern game release! 

My shader of choice for this purpose is xBRZ, but that choice is completely up to you. That is what is so great
about RetroArch. You get to choose how you want your game to look. It is totally to your taste!

The other great thing about RetroArch is that it
will work on nearly every Operating System that is in common use today (even some strange ones you would never think
about), which sets it apart from just about every other emulator out there.

lot of great guides out there that make the task easier, and it is very much worth the effort for the spectacular end

I have played through the entire game using these files, and except for a couple of hiccups with the emulator,
they play perfectly! I would, however, advise to use savestates just in case the emulator should ever crash so that you
don't lose your progress. Heck, I would advise to use savestates anyway just because this is such a challenging
game! LOL. 

Also, be advised that there is a lot of hidden content in this game. I missed a ton of stuff on
